Lets Talk Cricket - join the debate at The Approach, Wednesday 28th July @ 7pm

‘Twenty20: sounding the death-knell of Test Cricket?’ has been chosen to get fans of the great game fired up on Wednesday 28th July ahead of England’s appearance the next day. The debate will be hosted by keen cricket-follower and Nottingham Post deputy editor Steve Fletcher who will involve the audience as much as possible.

EXPERTS ON THE NIGHT:

·         Darren Bicknell, former England, Surrey and Nottinghamshire batsman

·         Derek Brewer, CEO of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club (NCCC)

·         Peter Wynne-Thomas, NCCC Librarian and renowned cricketing historian

·         Amanda Bacon, Nottinghamshire batsman and county coach of U15 Girls’ squad

Steve Fletcher says: "The success of T20 has put the spotlight firmly on the future of the Test cricket. Here in Nottinghamshire it has attracted thousands of new spectators to the game but traditionalists say Test cricket is the purest form of the game, that a five day contest requires so much more skill and concentration than a 20-over slog. It's a great debate to have here in Nottingham on the eve of the Test match with Pakistan, and I hope a lot of fans come along to the Approach to have their say.”
